How Accurate Are Contrast Ratio Ratings In Monitors?

Some manufacturers may promote dynamic contrast ratios with high numbers as opposed to the standard static contrast ratio. Static contrast ratio is typically a more accurate representation of black and white levels; dynamic contrast ratio is a larger ratio used to market monitors. Be sure to compare multiple monitors before you choose the ratio that is most aesthetically pleasing.
