| A. | hi, Like i mentioned... people have alot of problems with ie7 either saving or opening mht files....!!! and it think it because M$ no cares about that format.. at least i get that from a couple of article i read a few months ago....
possible remedies... I found this solution on website....I don't have ie7 so can't test it... 1.Solution:
Add two dashes "--" to the very end of the .mht file. Now it opens in IE 7.
2. get opera!!! that seems to be the program of choice when there a issue with IE7 opening files....
3. there are programs that will extract/convert a mht file to it componets. something akin to where you save a wepage as a "webpage complet" where you get a folder of grahics and the html file... note: do a search there several.. also in the link i provide below they reference program that will do it...
4. this link... has several suggestions which may or maynot work with you.. but try them... one of the suggesting is use opera..!! smiling... http://icrontic.com/forum/showthread.php?t=52848
5. now i have also been to M$ suppport... and would you believe.. for ie 7... not one item i could find on mht files...!! sure looks like m$ doesn't even want to acknowledge it....
now i like the mht format.. it great.. have a tons (appx 300) of mht files but it appears that MS is losing interest... with the format... and not sure how long opera will support it...... so you may want to start looking at alternatives... to me saving (webpage complete) not a good answer since you end up with 2 objects, a webpage and a folder... ... i am strongly looking at converting all of my mhts (which mostly are tutorials, to pdf format..just in case opera stops support!! not comfortable with the pdf format but it better than having a html file and a folder.... |
