Jump to first occurrence of: [INDIGENOUS] [LITERATURE] American Authors on the Web Mitsuharu Matsuoka of Nagoya University has put together an extensive and impressive list of links to sites related to well-known American authors. The chronological listing of authors spans 400 or more years and includes 700 people, with multiple Web sites for many of them. There also are links to general literature-related sites. Updates are made frequently, and a list of recent additions is given in the What's New section. http://www.lang.nagoya-u.ac.jp/~matsuoka/AmeLit.html Classics at the Online Literature Library This is an online bookshelf of classic literature from Baum and Burroughs to Voltaire and Wells. Most of the books are displayed in text form only, but future updates should include illustrations. The story "Alice in Wonderland" is used to test new formats and represents the eventual style for all of the books. Links are provided to an eclectic mix of other literary sites such as Shakespeare, Jane Austen, and British poets. http://www.literature.org/Works The Libyrinth of Allexamina This imaginative combination between a library and labyrinth focuses on 20th century authors known for their experimental styles, such as Jorge Luis Borges, William S. Burroughs, James Joyce, Franz Kafka, and others. Described as a "quadrant of Quailspace," the Web site sets aside normal syntax and reality as the "shifts and bouts of your naval farce" and uses "unwinding electric lifetwine" to explore the crannies of its maze of literary works.
