$39.95 NeoByte Solutions info@invisiblesecrets.com http://www.invisiblesecrets.com Scorecard Performance 4 Ease Of Use 5 Installation 5 Documentation 4 Price 4 Overall 4.4/5 Do you store sensitive information on your PC that you absolutely do not want anyone else to see? If so, an encryption program such as Invisible Secrets is a necessity. Crackers have become so crafty that there are few PCs they cannot compromise if they make a dedicated effort. You can shield your data from them—and even from authorized individuals that use your PC—with Invisible Secrets. Invisible Secrets takes a novel approach to data protection (ironically, using a similar method to that employed by malware writers). In addition to performing straight encryption on your data, it can bury the information inside other file types (picture, sound, or Web files) that crackers do not usually examine. It also helps you manage, store, and transmit your passwords securely and can digitally shred (destroy beyond recovery) files you no longer need. You can protect files from within Invisible Secrets, or you can encrypt and hide files in Internet Explorer and then transfer them safely via email or over the Internet. You can also hide the details of your Internet activity and password-protect or hide software applications installed on your system. Invisible Secrets installs quickly and easily and, after installation, presents a single window containing six clearly identified graphics, each of which affords access to one of Invisible Secrets' options. Click one of the descriptions under a graphic such as Hide Files, Shred Files, or Encrypt Files, and Invisible Secrets will open the dialog box for that feature. The interface also has several buttons in the top-right corner for access to Help, Options (preferences), Passwords (password manager), and more. Invisible Secrets' appeal lies in its ability to demystify the complicated subject of data security and provide even novice users with a valuable tool for safeguarding their data. It does not protect your PC from infection by spyware, adware, viruses, worms, or other threats not directly related to data retrieval. However, it does ensure that the authors of these and other malicious attacks will not be able to steal your precious information with impunity. by Jennifer Farwell |
