How To Get Rid Of ElevonSearch

Description

ElevonSearch is a browser plug-in bundled with a wide range of third-party software from media players to P2P apps. It installs in either Netscape Communicator or Internet Explorer. This program does have a legitimate purpose if you have a domain name purchased through New.net. These addresses exist only in the domain space created by New.net, so in order for a browser to reach them, the plug-in needs to be installed. The problem arises when the software is installed without your knowledge.

How To Tell If ElevonSearch Is Present On Your System

When you type a nonexistent or misspelled domain into your browser's address bar, you'll be redirected to a paid placement search engine called Quick! (www.elevonsearch.com).

How To Get Rid Of ElevonSearch

Manual deletion is not recommended since it can damage your default Winsock settings and thus, your entire Internet connection.

1) Click Start, Settings, Control Panel, and then double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.

2) Select the New.net application.

3) Click OK when the program finishes uninstalling.

4) When the process is done, reboot your computer.

Additional details, including an email address for further support with ElevonSearch is available at www.new.net/help_faq.tp#p4.
