Answers To Frequently Asked Questions About Smart Computing® Subscriptions:

Q. What does a subscription to Smart Computing include?
    A. The Smart Computing editorial staff produces four monthly magazines: Smart Computing, Computer Power User, PC Today and First Glimpse. In addition, we also produce a quarterly Smart Computing Reference Series. Smart Computing is sold as a subscription and on newsstands while the Reference Series issues are sold only on newsstands.

In addition to delivering an issue to you each month, a subscription to Smart Computing includes access to all features of SmartComputing.com. You may have noticed that some areas on our site are available only to subscribers, including the powerful problem-solving guidance available through the Q&A Board and Chat Rooms.

Q. When does my subscription expire?
    A. You can get the answer to this question by looking at the subscriber label that appears on the address sheet that accompanied your magazine.

Keep in mind that we mail magazines about six weeks before the date listed on the cover. That way you get your issue before it is available on the newsstands.


Q. How can I make sure my issues will come to my new address if I move?
    A. Just provide us with both your old and new address information through one of the following methods: Call us toll-free at (800) 733-3809; use the Address Change Form on our Web site; email us at customer.service@smartcomputing.com; or fax us at (402) 479-2193. We will update your information the day we receive it. The request must be received by the last Friday of the month if you want to update information for the issue that we send the following month.


Q. Why did I get a bill when I have already paid? Or a renewal notice when I have already renewed?
    A. Your payment and our notice probably crossed in the mail. If you do receive a second bill and wish to confirm receipt of your check/renewal notice, please email, fax, or call us.


Q. I didn't receive my issue, what do I do?
    A. Just call, fax, or email us, and we will gladly mail you another copy. Please include your correct address and account number so we may verify our records. If it is a recurring problem, we recommend you fill out a publication watch form at your local post office.


Q. Will Smart Computing rent my name out to direct mailers?
    A. No! We do not sell our readership information. We have never made the names of our readers available to anyone. For more information, click here to read our Privacy Policy.


Q. How can I pay for my subscription?
    A. We accept checks or money orders in U.S. currency only. We also accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. You may send us your payment with your invoice or statement, or if you are paying by credit card you can use the secured order form on our Web site. When you place an order via the Web, you will get this response: "Thank you for your submission." You should also receive an email receipt confirming the purchase. Your transaction will be processed on the business day following the order submission.


Q. How can I order the print version of Smart Computing back issues, PC Today, First Glimpse, CE Lifestyles, CE Tips, Guide Series, Learning Series, Reference Series, or Computer Power User?
    A. If you’re a subscriber, log in and click Buy Current & Past Issues on the right side of the My SmartComputing.com area. If you’re not a subscriber, click Subscribe & Shop at the top of any page and then click Buy Current & Past Issues.

Click Buy Or Browse to view the issues list. If a print copy of the issue is available, you will see
a link that says Buy Issue next to the issue title. Click this link to go to the secured site. Then input the appropriate information. If print copies of the issue are not available, it will say
Sold Out.

You also can place your order through our Customer Service department by calling (800) 733-3809 or faxing (402) 479-2193. Prepayment in the form of check or money order can be sent to Smart Computing, P.O. Box 85380, Lincoln, NE 68501.
